Land of the Ice and Snow, Midnight Sun, Hotsprings flow

With this unprecedented early spring in Revelstoke a lot of folks clear out of town. They see the blue skies and feel the warm breeze and decide it is in their best interest to go home. Sometimes true for those from the southern hemisphere. But for those who have made this town their home, it is just a good time to start using new toys. Mountain bikers, rock climbers, whitewater kayakers; we are all gearing up for more fun. It also means road trip season for us folks who cannot afford a new trad rack, bike or boat. Twenty bucks for gas and we are whisked away to the Kootenays for cheap red wine and hotsprings. Meeting new people, hanging out in the woods watching steam rise from the tubs as your new dreadlock toting tree fairy friend pounds back a luke-warm Pilsner with your name written on it. Hmmmm. The smell of spring.
